PRODUCTS & APPLICATIONS

Which desiccant is best suited to my application?
  • Silica gel: Universal desiccant with high absorption capacity, ideal for electronics, pharmaceuticals and food.
  • Bentonite: Natural, cost-effective alternative for general moisture control.
  • S-Pro Dry: Our high-performance desiccant with optimised moisture absorption.
  • Container desiccant: Specially designed to protect goods in sea containers against condensation.
  • ESD films & bags: Protect sensitive electronics from moisture and electrostatic discharge.
  • Moisture indicators: For visual monitoring of moisture levels in packaging.
How does silica gel work as a desiccant?

Silica gel consists of porous silicon dioxide that absorbs moisture from the ambient air. It can bind up to 40 % of its own weight in water and is available in various grain sizes and with a colour indicator.

Are the desiccants reusable?
Silica gel, for example, can be regenerated by heating at 100-120 °C and reused. Bentonite and container desiccants, on the other hand, are designed for single use.
How long do desiccants last?
The shelf life depends on the packaging and the storage conditions. In airtight containers, desiccants remain effective for several years.

APPLICATION & SAFETY

How do I calculate the amount of desiccant I need?
The required quantity depends on the packaging size, the product's sensitivity to moisture and the ambient conditions. We will be happy to advise you individually.
Are Sorbpro's desiccants environmentally friendly?
Yes, we attach great importance to sustainable solutions. Try out our S-Pro Dry series.
How should desiccants be stored?
Desiccants should be stored in airtight containers or packaging in order to maintain their effectiveness. Direct sunlight and high humidity should be avoided.
